Free resource · Insights behind the job ad

The recruiter is paid by the company. Not by you.

Every week we pull real procurement roles from the ANZ market and give you the honest read: what the ad could actually mean, and what to ask the recruiter and the hiring manager before you say yes.

Why this page exists

Recruiters are incentivised to fill roles. You are incentivised to get the job. Neither of those incentives has anything to do with whether the role is actually right for you.

Most procurement professionals have walked into a role that looked right on paper, and found something else entirely. A function with no real authority. A savings target set before anyone understood the spend. A manager who had already decided what they wanted before the interview started.

We've been on both sides of that table for 25 years. This is what we'd want to know. Consider this page the corner you didn't have.

One ad, pulled apart, every fortnight.

What the wording actually means, what they're not telling you, and the questions to ask before you apply. No filler and no sequence. If there's no ad worth writing about, you don't get an email.
